Vol. 70 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export Bounty on Sheep.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will consider giving a bounty of 5/- per head on the export of hogget sheep from April 6th to May 31st in order to clear the surplus stock.

I am not prepared to recommend the payment of an export bounty on sheep.

Is the Minister aware that there was a very big surplus of lambs from last year's crop and that now we are getting the new crop of lambs. Is the Minister prepared to do anything for the sheep breeding people of the Free State? The Minister will not answer. All this sort of thing will not be taken with a laugh by the country.
