Vol. 71 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - “S” Branch of G.S. in Marsh's Yard.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state (1) how many of the seven members of the "S" Branch of the Gárda Síochána, who formed the armed escort at Marsh's Yard on the 13th August, 1934, were subsequently promoted; (2) have any of these men since resigned, and, if so, how many; (3) if none, does the Minister propose to take any further action in the case of these seven men.

Three members of the escort were subsequently promoted. Of these, one has since resigned. In view of the information which I have just given, the final part of the Deputy's question does not apparently arise, but I may say that it is not intended to take any further action in this case.
