asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state for the year ended June, 1937, (1) the excess of births over deaths, (2) the net emigration, and (3) the variation in population.

The information will be circulated in the Official Report.

The following is the information:—

(1) The excess of births over deaths for the year ended 30th June, 1937, was

11,724

(2) The estimated balance outwards of passenger movement was

30,630

(3) Variation in population (estimated loss) at middle of 1937 compared with 1936 was

18,906
