Diseases of Animals Bill, 1938—Committee and Final Stages.

Section 1 agreed to.
SECTION 2.
(3) Section 2 of the Act of 1934 is hereby amended in the following respects and shall be construed and have effect accordingly, that is to say:—
(a) by the deletion in paragraph (c) of the said section of the words "intended to be used for hatching" and the substitution, in lieu of the words so deleted, of the words "either generally or with such exceptions as the Minister thinks fit".

I move amendment No. 1:—

In sub-section (3), page 2, line 34, to insert after the word "Minister" the words "for Agriculture".

This is purely a drafting amendment.

Section 2, as amended, agreed to.
SECTION 3.
(2) This Minister may by order under this sub-section revoke a suspensory order, and thereupon, as on and from the date on which such first-mentioned order comes into force, the Order under the Principal Act to which such suspensory order relates shall again come into operation.

I move amendment No. 2:—

In sub-section (2), page 3, line 1, to delete the words "This Minister" and substitute the words "The Minister.

Is it necessary to put in the words "Minister for Agriculture," seeing that in the definition clause "The Minister" is the Minister for Agriculture?

The amendment is considered necessary by the draftsman.
