Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Fund Finances.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the total amount of the advances made from the Central Fund to the Road Fund during the year ended 31st March, 1938, and the total amount due to the Central Fund from the Road Fund on the 31st March, 1938.

There were no advances from the Central Fund to the Road Fund under the Road Fund (Advances) Act, 1936, in the year ended 31st March, 1938. The amount due by the Road Fund to the Central Fund at that date was approximately £961,439.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the total amount of the cash balance held in the Road Fund on the 31st March, 1938, and how this balance is made up.

The cash balance, subject to audit, in the Road Fund at the 31st March, 1938, was £359,337, made up of £350,000 on deposit account, and £9,337 on current accounts.
