Vol. 71 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dangerous Road Crossings.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that at many cross-roads in villages and country districts no view of motor vehicles approaching by one road is possible to drivers approaching by another road because of intervening buildings or other objects, and no warning notices are posted at the approaches to those dangerous points; and if, in view of the alarming increase in avoidable accidents due to such conditions, he will take steps to urge local authorities to have the matter remedied.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. In regard to the second part of the question, local authorities are reminded from time to time of their powers and duties in the matter of providing and maintaining adequate warning signs.
