asked the Minister for Lands if he will state for each county the total amount (a) under the pre-1923 Land Acts, and (b) under subsequent Land Acts, of land purchase annuities proper to be paid in respect of the year ending the 31st January, 1938, which were outstanding on that date; and the total amount of land purchase annuities outstanding in each county on that date; and the gross total of land purchase annuities outstanding.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Outstanding Land Annuities
The accounts of the Land Commission are not kept in such a manner as to show readily particulars of the arrears as at 31st January, 1938, of the land purchase annuities proper to be paid in respect of the whole year ended on that date, but the following statement shows the arrears outstanding on the 31st July, 1937, in respect of the May-June, 1937, Gale and on the 31st January, 1938, in respect of the November-December, 1937, Gale. The particulars asked for in the second part of the question are set out separately in a second statement.
