Committee on Finance. - Red Cross Bill, 1938—Committee and Final Stages.

Sections 1 to 3 agreed to.
SECTION 4.
(1) On and after the date of the establishment of the Society it shall not be lawful for any person to use for the purpose of trade or business or any other purpose whatsoever, without the consent of the Minister for Defence, the heraldic emblem of the red cross on a white ground formed by reversing the Federal colours of Switzerland or any emblem closely resembling such heraldic emblem, or the words "Red Cross" or "Geneva Cross" or any words closely resembling the words "Red Cross" or "Geneva Cross."

I move:

In sub-section (1), page 3, lines 39 and 40 to insert after the word "words" the following "Cross Dhearg", "Cros na Geinéibhe".

This is merely to put in the Irish description of the Society as well as the English.

Amendment agreed to.
Section 4, as amended, Sections 5 to 9, inclusive, and the Title, agreed to.
