Vol. 73 No. 6

Written Answers. - Statistics as to Children in Éire.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether statistics are available showing the number of children under 16 years in families the heads of which enjoy an annual income of £250 or less, and, if so, what is the number of such children in Éire.

Statistics are not available of children classified according to income of heads of families. In Tables 4 A and 4 B of Volume IX of the Census of Population, 1926, statistics are given of dependent children under 16 years of age of married men, widowers and widows, classified by occupations.
