Written Answers. - Road Fund Finances.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the total amount paid into the Road Fund for the financial year ended 31st March, 1938, and of this total, what was the amount paid to the Cork County Council in respect of (a) road maintenance grant, and (b) main road improvement.

The total amount paid into the Road Fund from the Exchequer in the financial year ended 31st March, 1938, was £1,115,000. The amounts paid to the Cork County Council in that year by way of grants from the Road Fund in respect of (a) road maintenance, and (b) main road improvement were £30,627 and £28,628 respectively.
