Vol. 76 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballindine Railway Crossing.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that as a result of the building of houses, migration of tenants, and diversion of roads, the traffic at the railway crossing in the townland of Garryduff, Ballindine, has considerably increased in the past ten years; whether residents of this and 12 other neighbouring townlands have requested his Department to urge the erection by the railway company of a gate lodge at this crossing and the provision of attendance for the opening and closing of the railway gates; and if so, if he will state what steps, if any, are being taken by his Department to attend to the matter.

The answer to the first and second parts of the question is in the affirmative. This matter was brought to the notice of my Department in the Deputy's letter of the 13th ultimo and the action taken in the case was as notified in the official reply of the 3rd instant.
