Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cattle, Sheep and Pig Exports.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the total number of (a) rattle, (b) sheep, (c) pigs, exported (a) by sea and (b) by land during the week ended the 14th October, 1939, and for the corresponding week of last year.

There were 15,128 cattle, 4,725 sheep, 1,536 pigs shipped from ports in Éire during the week ended 14th October, 1939. The corresponding figures for the week ended 15th October, 1938, were 19,600 cattle, 8,016 sheep and 1,988 pigs. Statistics of exports by land are not compiled weekly, and accordingly information sought under this head is not available.
