Vol. 77 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Derating of Land.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether as an inducement to farmers to increase their tillage he will now introduce without delay a Bill to derate all land and farm buildings.

As I have already intimated in my reply to the Deputy's question on 4th July last on the subject of derating of agricultural land, I am not satisfied that derating would be the most practical incentive to the expansion of tillage.

The Government have forgotten their 1932 promises.

We never forget anything.
