Gift of Work of Art: Announcement by Ceann Comhairle.

Tuigtear gur sár-obair ealadhan an dealbh san. "The Reclining Shepherd" is teideal di agus isé an tEireannach mórchlú Seán O hOgáin do rinne í. Cuirfead in úil don Bhúrcach an baochas mór atá ag na comhaltaí air as ucht na hárd-mheanman puiblí agus na mór-fhéile thaisbeáin sé nuair a bhronn sé an seod san ar an náisiún.

Deputies, no doubt, will have seen already the beautiful piece of sculpture which has been placed in the vestibule of the House. It has been presented to the nation by Mr. John Burke, a well-known patron of the arts. It is by the famous Irish sculptor, John Hogan, and is entitled "The Reclining Shepherd". I shall convey to the donor, Mr. Burke, the thanks of the members for the public spirit and generosity displayed in making this presention to the nation.
