Vol. 77 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Exports of Live Stock and Agricultural Produce.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will state whether he himself or any of his Ministers have personally opened up negotiations direct with British Ministers regarding the necessity for securing better markets and prices for live stock and agricultural produce exported from Éire to Great Britain; and, if not, whether steps will be taken in this direction forthwith.

The necessity for the personal negotiation suggested by the Deputy has not arisen. The officers of the Departments who have been in the negotiations are of course constantly in touch with their Ministers. A number of the points outstanding have already been disposed of. It is hoped that the remaining difficulties will be solved in a short time.
