Vol. 77 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Milk in Kilkenny.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he is aware that the milk vendors in Kilkenny have increased the price of milk during the past week by 4d. per gallon; whether he intends to intervene where increases of this kind take place; and, if so, what action he is taking in regard to the increase in Kilkenny.

I have received a complaint from the Kilkenny Workers' Council regarding the recent increase in the price of milk in Kilkenny and this complaint is at present being investigated. The general question of milk prices is kept under constant supervision by my Department, which deals with any requests for permission to increase prices or complaints alleging overcharging for this commodity.
