Vol. 77 No. 7

Written Answers. - Migration of Mayo Tenants.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that acute congestion exists in the townlands of Ballyna and Meelish on the Lord Mayo estate, and if he will state the cause of the delay by the Land Commission in dividing the four holdings in these townlands from which tenants were recently migrated.

The Land Commission have arranged for the migration of three tenants from the townland of Mweelis and one tenant from the townland of Ballina and their vacated lands will be utilised for the relief of congestion in these townlands. These migrants, however, remain in occupation of their old holdings until the dwelling houses on their new holdings are erected. This work will be completed as soon as possible.
