Vol. 80 No. 11

Committee on Finance. - Vote 21—Stationery and Printing.

I move:—

Go ndeontar suim ná raghaidh thar £99,155 chun slánuithe na suime is gá chun íoctha an Mhuirir a thiocfaidh chun bheith iníocha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31adh lá de Mhárta, 1941, chun Tuarastail agus Costaisí Oifig an tSoláthair; chun Páipéarachais, Clódóireachta, Páipéir, Greamuíochta agus Leabhra Glóbhuailte i gcóir na Seirbhíse Puiblí; agus chun Ilsheirbhísí Ilghnéitheacha maraon le Tuairiseí Díospóireachtaí an Oireachtais.

That a sum not exceeding £99,155 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1941, for the Salaries and Expenses of the Stationery Office; for Stationery, Printing, Paper, Binding, and Printed Books for the Public Service; and for Sundry Miscellaneous Services, including Reports of Oireachtas Debates.

There is a very small increase of £3,144 on this Vote and the House will be glad to note the smallness of the amount. It is due to the very great care taken at present to keep down expenses.

Mr. Brennan

There is a decrease of £6,500 on paper, which apparently means that we are not purchasing.

That shows a good sense of anticipation in the previous purchases of this Department, but it is now using every scrap of paper it can in every possible way.

Vote put and agreed to.
