Vol. 80 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment Order.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he has made a Third Employment Order in respect of the present year, and, if so, if he will state the areas to which, and the classes of persons to whom the order applies, and whether, and, if so, when it is proposed to afford the Dáil an opportunity of discussing a motion to annul the order in question.

I have made a Third Employment Period Order for the period commencing on the 5th June and ending on the 29th October. The order applies to every person whose place of residence is not situated within the boundary of any county or other borough or of any urban district or of any town with the exception of the persons to whom the First and Second Employment Period Orders, 1940, apply, and also married men with dependants who are the occupiers of land the valuation of which is under £4—and who reside in a large number of district electoral divisions named in the Schedule to the order. The order will be laid on the Table of the House forthwith, and can then be questioned by Deputies within the time prescribed by the statute.

Would the Minister say if the Government will give facilities for the discussion of that order early next week?
