I move:—
That Dáil Eireann hereby approves of the Sugar (Prohibition of Import) Order, 1940.
This is to confirm the Prohibition Order made on the 3rd April, 1940, under the Control of Imports Act, 1936, which empowers the Government by order to prohibit the importation of sugar save under licence of the Ministry for Industry and Commerce and provides further that licences may not be issued except to Comhlucht Siúicre Eireann, Teoranta.
