In Committee on Finance. - Minerals Development Bill, 1940—Money Resolution.

I move:—

That it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas of any expenses incurred by the Minister for Industry and Commerce in the administration of any Act of the present Session to make further and better provision for the development and working of the mineral resources of the State.

In that connection, Deputy Cosgrave asked me whether we had any proposition in contemplation. There is only one in contemplation and that is, that we may find it necessary to utilise the power of the Minister under this Bill in order to secure the development of the Slievardagh coalfield. At the moment there is no other project before me.

Resolution put and agreed to.
