I am arranging for the publication in the Official Report of a statement showing the average weekly amount paid in home assistance in each public assistance area in respect of the months of January, February, March and April, 1940, and the average weekly amount of the total amount of home assistance paid in these months and in January, February, March and April, 1939.
Owing to the pressure of other urgent work the compilation of statistics for concluding part of period has not yet been completed.
