Vol. 81 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Surplus Oats.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state approximately what was the total quantity of old oats in the country carried over when the new oat crop came on the market.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply which I gave to a similar question by Deputy Dillon on the 2nd October.

I do not think that we got any information at all. A question was put down on several occasions, but the answer we got was that the Minister was investigating the matter. We got no concrete figure. Is the figure available now?

No; it will not be available.

The Minister could have given a direct answer at first.

I said that the last time.

The Minister is taking mighty good care not to find out.
