asked the Minister for Supplies if he will state the quantity of tea imported during each of the years 1938, 1939 and 1940, and also the total quantity in possession of tea importers or in bond on the 31st December, 1940.
Written Answers. - Tea Imports.
The imports of tea during the 12 months ended 31st December, 1938, amounted to 22,676,447 lbs. As the Deputy is not doubt aware, it has been decided, as an emergency measure, to suspend the publication of the Imports Statistics since September, 1939. It would not be in the public interest to disclose the remaining information requested by the Deputy.
