asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the total amount of unemployment assistance payments made in each of the months of September, October, November, December, 1940, and the amount of such payments made in each month in respect of the Dublin registered area.

The total amount of unemployment assistance payments made in each of the months of September, October, November, December, 1940, and the amount of such payments made in each of those months in respect of the Dublin Registration Area were as follows. The figures are, of course, subject to audit.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of (a) persons with means, (b) person without means, discriminating between (1) men, and (2) women, having applications current for unemployment assistance during the week preceding each of the following dates, viz., 28th September, 1940; 26th October, 1940; 30th November, 1940; and the nearest convenient date to the 31st December, 1940, in each of the employment areas; (1) Dublin and Dun Laoghaire; (2) North Leinster; (3) South Leinster, (4) North Munster, (5) South Munster, (6) North Connacht, (7) South Connacht, (8) Ulster, and the number of others, discriminating between (1) men, and (2) women, (3) boys, and (4) girls, on the live register (including persons with unemployment insurance claims current) in each of these employment areas during the week preceding each of the following dates, viz., 28th September, 1940; 26th October, 1940; 30th November, 1940; and the nearest convenient date to the 31st December, 1940, and the totals of such persons.
