Vol. 82 No. 5

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business as on the Order Paper in the following order: Defence Forces (Temporary Provisions) Bill, 1941—Second Stage; Vote on Account; Vote on Account—Issue out of Central Fund; Supplementary and Additional Estimates; Excess Votes; and Central Fund Bill—First Stage.

Is the Tánaiste in a position to say when time will be given for the consideration of the motion to annul the Employment Period Order? It is a statutory order and the grievance to which it relates has been operative since the 5th of the month. Would he consider the possibility of making time available next week?

I shall look into the matter.

Is it intended to sit next week?

I think so, but I am not sure. I shall let the Deputy know in the morning.

Is there any understanding about the disposal of the financial business on the paper?

I understood that the financial business was to be disposed of by the time we usually rise to-morrow. That is the only understanding of which I know.

It might be safer to say that the financial business will be given, so far as this Party is concerned, some time to-morrow.

If financial business should conclude this evening, is it intended to sit to-morrow?

That is a contingency we need not dwell upon.
