Vol. 82 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Incident.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that a man was recently apprehended in County Dublin claiming right of access to a dairy herd of cattle as a Department of Agriculture inspector; that it transpired that he was an unauthorised person, and whether any further steps have been taken to ascertain the purpose this man had in mind and whether he was acting on his own initiative or as agent for someone else.

I am not aware that any person has been apprehended in such circumstances.

I am aware that a report was made to the Gárdaí recently that an unauthorised person had represented himself to be an inspector of the Department of Agriculture and demanded access to a dairy herd in County Dublin. On investigation, however, it was found that there was no truth in the report.
