Vol. 82 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Additional Telephone Facilities.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when he proposes to supply extra trunk telephone circuits between Sligo and Dublin, in view of the acute congestion at present obtaining on existing circuits.

There are at present three circuits between Dublin and Sligo. Three additional "carrier" circuits are being provided. The terminal equipments have already been installed, but extensive re-arrangements of wires on the pole route between Dublin and Sligo must be completed before the new circuits can be put into service. The work is in hands, and will, it is expected, be finished before the end of May.
