Vol. 83 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Provision of Air-Raid Shelters.

asked the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defensive Measures if he will take steps towards the immediate building of additional air-raid shelters throughout Dublin City.

The shelters being erected by the Dublin Corporation are to provide for people caught in the open during an air-raid and for people who live in unsafe dwellings. Shelters for 30,000 people have been constructed in Dublin City. I have during the past few weeks made a personal tour of the more congested districts in Dublin to determine the shelter requirements. I propose this week to ask the corporation to provide shelters sufficient for the needs of these areas.
