Vol. 84 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bantry Bay Steamship Services.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he is aware that the Bantry Bay Steamship Company cannot obtain a supply of coal for the steamship, "Princess Beara", which is the only means of transporting goods into and out of the Beara peninsula, and if he is taking any action to provide a supply of coal for this service.

As a result of representations made to my Department with regard to the supply of coal to the Bantry Bay Steamship Company arrangements have been made for the supply locally of sufficient coal to meet their immediate requirements.

Is the Minister satisfied that the Great Southern Railways have any responsibility in this matter?

Not that I know of.
