Vol. 84 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Commission of Inquiry on Unemployment.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether it is intended to give effect to the decision of Dáil Eireann expressed in a resolution adopted by the House on December 12th, 1940, that the Government should appoint a commission to inquire into and report upon the extent, cause and incidence of unemployment, and, if so, whether he will state the cause of the delay in doing so and the steps in contemplation now for the purpose of implementing the decision in question.

The terms of reference of this commission are in course of preparation, and it is hoped that the commission will be duly appointed in the near future.
