asked the Minister for Lands if he will state (a) in respect of each county the total number of nulla bona returns in the possession of the Land Commission and the corresponding number at the same date in each of the past ten years; (b) the total number of nulla bona returns in the possession of the Land Commission and the corresponding figure for the same date in each of the past ten years; (c) the total area of all the holdings in each county in respect of which nulla bona returns are held by the Land Commission.

The information requested by the Deputy at (a) and (c) in the question is not available and could not be ascertained without a prolonged and laborious research which is not possible in present circumstances.
A tabular statement showing for each county the number of nulla bona returns in the possession of the Land Commission on 8th July, 1941, will be circulated in the Official Report; (b) the total number of nulla bona returns in the possession of the Land Commission on 8th July, 1941, 31st January, 1940, and 31st January, 1939, was 3,263, 4,970 and 3,422, respectively.
