Vol. 84 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Engineering Appointments in Kildare.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state whether authority has been sought by the County Kildare Board of Health for the appointment of a consulting engineer in connection with the proposed extension of the Kildare sewerage system to the Fair Green and Curragh Farm cottages, and, if so, when it is proposed to sanction the appointment.

The board of health applied for approval to appoint a consulting engineer on the 7th February, 1940. They were informed on the 20th February, 1940, that the usual report should be furnished by the county medical officer of health on the necessity for the works. The board applied again on the 22nd May, 1940, and they were referred on the 25th June, 1940, to the request contained in the letter of the 20th February and informed that the report asked for had not been received. The report has not yet been furnished and no submission has since been made by the board in regard to the matter.
