Vol. 84 No. 16

Ceist—Question. Oral Answer. - Farm Improvements Scheme.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, in view of the fact that many applications for grants under the farm improvements scheme were not sanctioned in time to enable the objects of the grants to be completed before the spring's work commenced, he will extend the time for completion of such work until after the crops and turf have been saved.

I am aware that in a number of cases improvement works approved under the farm improvements scheme were not, owing to various special reasons, completed by the date on which works under the scheme for the season 1940-41 were intended to be finished, viz., 24th July. In the circumstances, I have arranged to extend the time for the completion of such works to 31st October next.
