The simple purpose of this Bill is to make it possible for the returning or the presiding officer to put a question to elicit whether, in fact, a person applying for a voting paper, apart altogether from the question whether that person's name is on the register, is a person who has attained the age of 21 years. Section 3 of the Bill repeals Section 25 of the Parliamentary Elections (Ireland) Act, 1823, but that provision is re-enacted in Section 1.
