Vol. 86 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wages of Forestry Workers.

asked the Minister for Lands if, in view of the increased cost of living, he is prepared to increase the wages of forestry workers; and, if so, whether his decision in the matter will be announced at an early date.

The rate of wages payable to forestry labourers is bound up with the remuneration of all labourers in Government employment and is therefore not a matter for decision solely by my Department, but I may say that the question whether any increase of wages can be given to forestry labourers is at present under review.

When is a decision likely to be arrived at?

Shortly.
