Vol. 86 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Emly Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what steps he has taken or intends to take to terminate the local controversy regarding the division of the Ballyholohan estate, Emly, and if he will arrange to have two of the migrants withdrawn with a view to meeting the needs of local applicants.

I would refer the Deputy to the very explicit reply given to the question put by himself and Deputy Martin Ryan on the 24th March last. In that reply, I stated that "it is my intention to see that the decisions of the Land Commission, which is the duly appointed and responsible authority in the matter of land division, and the requirements of law and order, are enforced." Nothing has transpired since to induce me to depart from that intention.
