The number of communications to the Press for publication during each of the years was: 1939-40, 732; 1940-41, 822; 1941-42, 921. In addition a number of inquiries from the Press were dealt with by the Bureau. These have not been specifically listed, but it is estimated that inquiries on more than 1,500 topics were answered in the year ended March, 1942.
