asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of mills in the various counties which have been given permits to mill home-grown wheat into flour, and the names of the places where those mills are situated.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Permits for Mills.
Mr. Brodrick
The information sought by the Deputy would take a considerable time to read to the House and I, therefore, propose to circulate it in the form of a tabular statement. The statement is being circulated with the Official Report, and contains the names of 290 firms at present holding permits. About 100 additional permits are in course of issue and it is expected that a further number will be issued when the investigation of the remaining applications is completed.
Following is the statement:—
