Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gas Producer Plant for Vehicles.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he will state the total number of vehicles which have been equipped with gas producer plant since 1939, other than vehicles owned by the State.

Under the Emergency Powers (Gas Producer Equipment) Order, 1942, on and after the 1st May, 1942, no person is permitted to use, on any public road, a vehicle fitted with a gas producer equipment unless such vehicle has been registered in the register of gas producer vehicles.

Up to and including the 30th May, 1942, 611 vehicles, other than vehicles owned by the State, have been so registered.
