Vol. 88 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Haulbowline Steel Mills.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he can now state the date when the Irish Steel Mills at Haulbowline will resume work after its long close-down since February, 1941; and if he is aware that there is a general demand for the products of these mills, which cannot be met until production is resumed.

I am aware that the position is as stated at the end of the Deputy's question. Considerable progress has been made in the arrangements for reopening the mills of Irish Steel, Limited, but I am not in a position to state when rolling operations can be restarted.
