Vol. 88 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Roscommon Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state if it is the intention of the Irish Land Commission to prepare a scheme before next spring for the sub-division of the Beechwood lands (Glover estate), Roscommon; and if he is aware that considerable unrest and uneasiness exist there amongst the many uneconomic holders in the locality by reason of a report that the Land Commission is negotiating with a private purchaser for the sale of the house and a goodly portion of the land, which is already insufficient to relieve local congestion.

The Land Commission are in negotiation with the owners for the purchase of the lands of Tonlagee on the Glover estate (Beechwood), County Roscommon but they are not at present in a position to state what portion of the lands will be acquired or when a scheme for division will be prepared.
