Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Licences to Operate Vehicles.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he will state for the month of December, 1941, and December, 1942, (a) the number of private cars licensed to operate under permit from his Department; (b) the number of hackney cars; (c) the number of large public service vehicles; (d) the number of private lorries; (e) the number of lorries operating under haulier's licence, excluding the railway companies; and (f) the number of lorries licensed for railway companies.

I am circulating with the Official Report a statement giving the desired information.

Following is the statement:—

No permits to operate motor vehicles were necessary in December, 1941. The following gives particulars of motor vehicles licensed in December, 1941, in respect of which petrol allowances were issued and of vehicles licensed and permitted to be operated in December, 1942:—
