Vol. 89 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - West Cork Workers and Unemployment Assistance.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that a large number of young men from West Cork who left their homes for the turf-cutting season have been refused unemployment assistance; and, if so, if he will state the reason.

I am aware that a small number of young men from West Cork who were engaged in turf-cutting last season have been disqualified for receiving unemployment assistance up to the 31st December, 1942, because they left their employment voluntarily without just cause.
