Vol. 89 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Expenses of Members of Vocational Education Committees.

asked the Minister for Education whether he proposes to introduce legislation to enable members of vocational education committees to be paid travelling expenses on a par with expenses paid to members of county councils; and, if so, when.

It is proposed to introduce legislation at an early date amending the Vocational Education Acts. The amending Bill, will include a provision for the payment of travelling expenses to members of the vocational education committees on the lines of those authorised by the Local Government Act, 1941, in the case of members of county councils. It is not possible to say at this stage when exactly the Bill will be introduced, but every effort is being made to expedite matters.
