Vol. 89 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Old Age Pension Claims.

Mr. Lynch

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has received a resolution of the Kerry County Council recommending the appointment of local referees on old age pension claims with a view to securing agreement between the old age pension sub-committees and investigation officers; whether he has yet considered this recommendation and what action he proposes to take in the matter.

I have received no such resolution, but the question, presumably, refers to a resolution of the Kerry Old Age Pension Committee which was forwarded recently to the Department of Local Government and Public Health recommending the appointment of local referees on old age pension claims. I am not in favour of the suggestion and I do not propose to take any action in the matter.
