Vol. 89 No. 7

Army Pensions Bill, 1943—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Army Pensions Acts, 1933 to 1941.
—(Minister for Defence).

When is it proposed to take the Second Stage?

I had hoped that the Bill would be in the hands of Deputies this morning but, apparently, it was not circulated. There was an expression of opinion on the occasion of a recent debate that the House would be prepared to go a long way towards expediting the Bill and if the House felt it could take the Second Stage to-morrow, I should be glad to take it, provided the Bill will have been circulated. I do not think it can be regarded as a very intricate or controversial type of Bill.

The Bill is now available in the office.

Second Stage ordered for to-morrow.
