Vol. 89 No. 8

Intoxicating Liquor Bill, 1942—(From the Seanad) Report.

The Committee has agreed to amendments Nos. 2 and 3. It has agreed to amendment No. 1 in an amended form.

Amendment No. 1, as amended in Committee, agreed to.

I move the following amendment to Seanad amendment No. 2:—

In Seanad amendment No. 2—

(a) to delete from the proposed new paragraph (a) the words "if such premises are situate in a county borough, between the hours of nine o'clock and ten o'clock in the morning on weekdays, or, if such premises are not situate in a county borough", and

(b) to delete from the proposed new paragraph (c) the words "if such premises are situate in a county borough, between the hours of nine o'clock and ten o'clock in the morning on weekdays and between the hours of half-past two o'clock and half-past three o'clock in the afternoon on weekdays, or, if such premises are not situate in a county borough", and

(c) to add at the end of the said proposed new paragraph (c), but before the apostrophe, the words "and if such premises are situate in a county borough, between the hours of half-past two o'clock and half-past three o'clock in the afternoon on weekdays during any period, whether it is or is not a period of summer time".

This amendment is consequential on the amendment that was made by the Committee yesterday. It provides for opening for unlicensed trade between the hours of 9 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. It is simply consequential on what was done yesterday.

Question put and agreed to.
Amendment No. 2, as amended, agreed to.

Ordered: That the Seanad be notified accordingly.
