Vol. 89 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Expenses of Members of County Committees of Agriculture.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when it is proposed to introduce legislation to enable members of county committees of agriculture to be paid travelling expenses at the same rate as members of county councils.

A Bill to amend and extend the provisions of the Agriculture Act, 1931, and the Agriculture (Amendment) Act, 1934, has been prepared by my Department, and I intend to move as soon as possible for its introduction. Under this Bill it is proposed to include provision for granting to members of the county committees of agriculture travelling expenses on the same lines as apply to the members of other local bodies under the provisions of Section 80 of the Local Government Act, 1941.
