Vol. 89 No. 9

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take the business on the Order Paper in the following order:—Nos. 6, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary to the Taoiseach say whether to-day or to-morrow would be the most suitable to raise the matter of which I have given notice already?

Does the Deputy refer to the question he desired to raise on the Adjournment?

Yes. I asked permission on Thursday to raise it whenever the Minister was available.

I doubt whether the Minister will be in attendance to-day.

I shall find out whether he will be available.

Mr. Byrne

I should like to ask when the motion on family allowances will be taken. I understand that the Tánaiste gave a promise to Deputy Dillon that it would be taken to-day.

No such promise was given.

Mr. Byrne

Will the Tánaiste say when it will be taken? I understood from Deputy Dillon that a promise was given.

I am not aware that any such promise was given.

Mr. Byrne

Will the Tánaiste say when it is likely to be taken?

I cannot say. We are now starting the financial business and I do not know when an opportunity will arise. I shall be glad to discuss it when an opportunity can be given.

Is the House likely to sit next week?
